You can access the Working Time Directive Screen by clicking on the following icon.
You will now see a summary of the weekly hours worked by selected employees for a seventeen-week period, to show compliance with the Working Time Directive.
The Working Time Directive Summary screen is similar to the Working Time Directive screen, as it shows compliance with the Working Time Directive. This screen shows all employees currently selected, and their weekly totals of hours worked over a seventeen-week period. The average of these hours is shown in a column next to the employee’s name.
Any employees, who exceed 48 hours on a week, are not breaking the Working Time Directive as long as 48 are not exceeded for the average of the seventeen weeks. If 48 hours is exceeded, then this is considered as non-compliance with the Working Time Directive. If audited and employers are found guilty of non-compliance with the act, they may face penalty fines. For further information about this, please consult:http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1997/en/act/pub/0020/index.html
It is possible to predict any potential problems in the Working Time Directive Summary screen. As the average weekly hours worked figure is calculated over any 17 week period, it is possible to look forward a week. If an employee is close to the 48-hour limit, and the employee is scheduled to work another long week. This could potentially push the employee into a non-compliant situation. By pressing the Plus 7 days icon, you can see what hours are scheduled for the upcoming weeks and see if there is a risk of non-compliance
You can see which 17-week period you are looking at by the weeks information displayed in the top left of the screen.
It is possible to move back and forward a week in the Working Time Directive records by clicking on the plus/minus 7 days icons.
If you need to access a specific date, click on the “go to date” icon.
Now enter the date you require, and press ok
It is possible to view the Clockcard for any specific week, by double clicking on the week’s total that you wish to view. For example, clicking here will open Brigid Martin's Clockcard for the week of 06/07/14.
